Stretching

Regular stretching is often a vital part of any fitness routine. It helps keep musles supple and improves range of motion. Stretching can also help relieve pain and get rid of trigger points (knots in muscles).

As a massage therapist I have a few tricks that can help with stretching. Advanced assisted stretching techniques that can help stretch those stubborn muscles, that are often difficulte to stretch one's self.

PNF Stretching

PNF is short for proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, and is a stretching technique which tricks nerve endings in the muscles (proprioceptors), into relaxing the muscle for long enough to be able to stretch the muscle further than would normally be possilbe.

STR (Soft Tissue Release)

Soft tissue release, also known as the "lock and key" method, is another assisted stretching techlinque which therapists can employ in order to stretch muscles which are otherwise difficult to stretch.
I usually incorporate these stretching techniques into a massage session. However, it is also possible to just do a stretching settion, or to add a comprehensive stretching session to the end of a massage.
I can also adjust the routine for you to meet your particular needs.
