Massage has a powerfull positive effect on a persons body image. I have done extensive reserach into this and will be publishing it here shortly.
If you suffer from a poor body image, massage can certainly help you. It works best if you have a weekly massage, starting concervatively with just a back massage, and hopefully building up to a full body massage within 5 weeks. It works by creating a pleasurable experience in the body, which helps to reframe the body mind connection. Obviousely a regular massage after that helps to maintain a good body image, but it need not be quite as frequent.
